Amongst the many restaurants brimming on the 36 Jubilee Hills stretch of Hyderabad, Ciclo Café is the latest entrant and it’s a place like no other in Hyderabad. Ciclo Café is a hub for cycling enthusiasts that promises to bring bicycles and its lifestyles under one roof.
Ciclo Café is the result of TI Cycles – India’s best known cycle makers and Absolute Specialty Foods which has already created enough buzz in the city’s cycling community. Invited for a preview the past week, I was quite excited to be at the city’s first cycling themed café.
The restaurant echoes the cycling theme from the outer façade itself. Chandeliers fashioned from cycle chains, walls with leather, seat hangings and a row of bar stools built out of cycle frames and giant wall posters – the décor is skillfully designed and it’s amazing.
On the food, Ciclo has incorporated a global menu that will leave you spoilt for choice. Started off with Cranberry & Rosemary smash Cocktail that was quite refreshing after which some scrumptious appetizers followed. I loved the Grilled Cajun Chicken and Oven dried Tomato & Olive Puff. The Coconut crusted Prawns that was served with Mango Jalapeno dip was quite innovative.
Quinoa, Beetroot and Orange salad that followed next was just about okay. I thought it required some more dressing.
Lamb Tiger Burger was the show stopped of the day. Lamb, Cheddar melt & Caramelized onions together was absolutely fabulous.
For the pizzas Ciclo Full house and Tandoori Chicken were on offer. Loaded with Assorted Peppers, Olives, Sundried tomato, Mushrooms, Jalapenos & Onions – the Ciclo Full house was my pick of the two. Tandoori Chicken pizza came with Onion & Capsicum.
From the vegetarian Mains – Quinoa & Ragi Crepe was super good. Made of leek & Mushroom, tomato cream and smoked scarmorza the result was nothing short of delicious. Then there was Barley & Cottage cheese Construct which was visually appealing and Grilled Polenta & Ratatouille.
Black pepper & Chilli rubbed Grilled Chicken, Grilled Kasundi fish and Prawn stuffed Chicken were the non-vegetarian delicacies on offer. Special mention about the Prawn stuffed chicken that was very impressive and makes it a fancy dish to order.
Bailey’s Pan cake and Baked Philadelphia Cheese Cake were the two desserts on offer – each good in their own different league.
While enjoying fusion bar snacks, Ciclo Café also houses a range of international and domestic liquor for the ones to who like to groove to house music.
With a concept like this setting foot right in the center of the city, hope the cycling culture catches with more people.
Thumbs up for this one !
