Galle Fort at 173 odd km from Colombo has the distinction of being the best-preserved sea fort in the whole of South Asia. Apparently, this World Heritage Site was the main port for ships sailing between the east and Europe.
A visit to Srilanka should never be complete without witnessing the heritage sites that are a blend of Dutch and the English colonial styles of architecture.
Loved visiting the narrow streets of the fort area where I could witness some of the colonial styled villas, boutique accommodations, and plenty other boutique stores. The Galle Fort truly exudes old world charm.
