Imagine a place with eclectic Asian ambiance that slowly transports into a tranquil setting of Inner Asia…Well, the newly launched Inazia Chime at Sheraton Hotel Hyderabad is the exact definition. Well located on the upper floors of Sheraton, Inazia Chime has a view over virtually the entire Financial District from its vast windows, the likes of which you’ve probably have never seen before.
Chime is stylishly designed to subtly replicate the look of an open drinks cabinet. The dazzling cylindrical objects on the ceiling, from chairs, to walls and to the bar itself, all of which creates such an impression that you would swear the drinks actually taste better because of it.
InAzia on the other hand with its eclectic Asian ambiance & bright lights makes this place feel like a true find. The Open Kitchen is part of the fresh ambiance and the wall swathing it has the names printed of all the people who were involved in creating InAzia. A novel yet a brilliant touch to the concept.
Was happy to have been invited for a Blogger’s table to get a first-hand experience of InAzia Chime. Chime is ruled by Ami Shroff – a name synonymous with flair bartending who has been in the business for 13 years and counting. She presented us with a Red & White Wine sangria to start with and moved onto to Wasabi Martini – a fun yet delicious cocktail with a strong hint of Wasabi. Next up was a unique creation called Bell Pepper Martini which I felt sounded kinda gross or weird but then the very sight of this savory cocktail was enough to get me excited. Who would’ve thought that this would be served in a Bell Pepper? Literally! This savory cocktail with the sting of the bell pepper was mystic in its offering that was simply outstanding.
Next up was a Japanese Martini that was coated with crushed black pepper and garnished with a Bok Choy leaf. This was as interesting as it tasted. Other than the delicious cocktails that kept flowing, Ami Shroff entertained the guests with her juggling skills that was a treat to watch.
We started off our gourmet experience at InAzia with a portion of Kimchi salad & wonton sheets. InAzia is ruled by Chef Ninja Suksamai who has travelled across the globe to curate many food festivals at various star hotels and has earned a top spot in the culinary circuits. One glance at the menu and I must say that Chef Ninja has put together a whole range of dishes that span across the Asian geography creating a gastronomical extravaganza with some outstanding flavors. Ranging from traditional Som-Tom, Phadthai to PlaThod XO Sauce from China to an array of Sushi’s, the menu is dynamic and perfect mélange of Asian Food.
With bright pink chunks of plump shrimp veiled in thin, stretchy, translucent dough the Steamed Crystal Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow) was the first of the appetizers that went perfectly well with the tangy and yet flavorful dipping sauce. Next up was the Crispy Fragrant Duck that was served with Hoisin Sauce that was irresistible with its melting fragrant skin and tender flesh enfolded up in pancakes.
The Grilled Chicken Satay served with slightly sweet Peanut Sauce which was super delicious while the Batter Fried Tempura Vegetables along with honey chili sauce complemented the vegetables.
Two Salads were on offer – Som Tam & Thai Goong. Som Tam – the most popular salad of Thailand is loved for its low calorie. Made of Shredded Raw Papaya, Tomato, and Chilli, this crunchy salad is slathered in lime and topped with Peanut. This was great on its own and at times used it as a side dish too. Thai Goong Salad on the other hand had a characteristic lemon grass flavor which was delightfully tasty.
Tom Kha with its rich flavor of quintessential Thai ingredients of Kaffir Lime, Chilli and Galangal was packed with flavor and nicely blended with coconut milk. A perfect soup for the cold winter evening!
Next up were a wide variety of Mains that followed of which California Roll was the first of the lot. These ‘log’ shaped sushi rolls – packed with savory crab and fresh creamy avocado was a fresh take on the traditional Japanese rolls. The Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab was tasty enough to justify its flavor along with Hot Basil & Chilli Sauce. Stir Fried Lobster with its spicy tamarind sauce looked gorgeous. Succulent pieces of lobster with vibrant spices and a touch of coconut milk was spot on however the tamarind sauce is an acquired taste which not everyone would like it.
Roasted Lamb In Massaman Curry was a creamy curry with tender chunks of Lamb & Potato and Vegetable Green Curry paired well with the Sticky Rice. A special mention about Vegetable Green Curry that was one of the best I’ve had in recent times. Stir fried vegetables in Brown Garlic Sauce had all the exotic vegetables like the Broccoli, Mushroom & Baby Corn that was well done while XO fried rice had shrimp and chicken in a spicy XO Sauce which enhanced the flavor of the meat. No wonder this sauce is termed as the Emperor of all sauces.
The desserts were a simple affair of Honey Noodles & Coconut Ice Cream. Crispy fried noodles drizzled with honey is the absolute hot & cold combination that is a favorite with people of all ages.
All in all, it was an evening ruled by two talented women – Ami Shroff & Chef Ninja who are innovative and passionate about what they do. Head over to InAzia Chime for an experience you’d surely not want to miss.
Thumbs up for this one !
