Ever wanted a perfect Sunday getaway from hustle-bustle of the city life to a much serene atmosphere and spend some quality time over food, drinks, music and maybe a dip in the pool? If yes, then the Sunday brunch at Novotel Hyderabad Airport is the perfect place to be.
Was invited for the Brunch last weekend and I was more than happy to oblige the invite. After a good 30 minutes’ drive along the PVNR express highway, reached the hotel that is well positioned next to the International Airport. The brunch was spread at Novotel’s signature restaurant – The Square. Adorned with European style décor, one can dine at the pool patio or may soak some sun in the alfresco while indulging in delectable spread that offers a range of Global cuisine that includes Arabic, North African, Asian & Chinese, European & Mediterranean, American Bar-be-que, & Caribbean to name some.
Chef Unnikrishnan took us through the entire spread on offer of which the Roasted Turkey, Oysters & Clams, Sushi and the live counters caught my fancy. Roasted Turkey with Cranberry Pan Sauce went absolutely well. The blueberry especially had the right mix of acid and pectin which worked well for the Turkey. The Red & White Wine Sangria on offer was well done that kept flowing throughout the lunch.
One of the other good feature of the brunch is that they have a separate section for kids that includes donuts, brownies, cupcakes and a special playing area with tattoo & balloon artists to keep them engaged. From the healthy section I liked the fruit juices in tubes an innovative way of offering the fruit shots and then there was a wide range of cold cuts, cheese and salads on offer.
From the live counter tried the Tawa Fish which was one of the star attractions. Three assorted variety of fish was tossed in sauce of your choice. From the Indian street food section – the Kathi Rolls done in Kolkata style was something that I opted for. It was slightly on the spicier side which had the street food appeal. The Indian starters included Nizami Murgh Tikka, Chilli Fish, green peas croquettes and Tandoori subzi. The bread station had a variety of assorted rolls, loaves, Croissant, Danish & Muffin.
Sea food Sushi
The Chicken Dimsum from the Non-Veg counter was well done and the spicy diamond sauce that accompanied it was as authentic as it could get. For the mains I ignored a lot of rich Indian dishes that included Nalli Nihari, Rara Murgh, Jheenga Malai Curry, Chutney wale kofta, Shai Paneer, Kadai Subz and Rajma Risala. I was content with the Seafood Risotto, barbecued vegetables and a glass of wine for my main course.
The dessert section was an absolute visual delight of which my favorite was the Bailey’s decadence, Sacher Torte, Lamingtons and Cream Caramel with other option such as Mince Pie, Trio Mousse, Easterhazy etc. The indian sweets included Rasgulla, Kakinada kaja, khova barfi while Fried Ice cream from the live counter was the star among them.
With some soothing live music, serene atmosphere, wide range of delectable food and drinks on offer, the Sunday Brunch at Novotel is like a perfect getaway to spend with family & friends.
Thumbs up for this one !
