Tatva is the latest entrant to the ever increasing number of restaurants on the 36 Jubilee Hills road. But what makes this place different from the others is that it is offers handpicked signature vegetarian dishes in a swanky setting.
Tatva is designed in two sections – a café structure that gives more of a coffee shop feel & second a fine dine structure with two huge PDRs. On the food front, tatva offers vegetarian dishes in a multi cuisine format. From Continental to Indian to Oriental and even Mexican, the menu was robust in a way that there is something for everyone.
Was happy to have been invited for a preview where Chef Naveen presented us with some of his signature dishes from the menu. I’ve known Chef Naveen from his earlier stints and he is extremely good with what he offers, I couldn’t wait but dig into the food.
Started off with KamalKakdi Ke Galouti which was so rich that it could’ve been easily passed off as a non-vegetarian variant. The Falafel that followed next was quite consistent and was plated quite well on a pita and hummus served as a side.
Next up was Jalapeno Poppers which was an instant hit while my favorite of the lot was Crackling spinach – deep fried shredded spinach served with toasted sesame seeds will make one believe that spinach could taste so nice.
Thai Paneer Shashlik and Smoked Pesto Paneer were good in their own league, but I personally loved the basil laden pesto paneer and the smoked flavor worked brilliantly well.
Tatva Jain Burger up is supposedly the signature dish which does not use neither onion nor garlic. Made of raw banana, peas & corn this one was quite good and should definitely appeal to the burger lovers. Canneloni Florentine – with its rich spinach and cheese stuffing was absolutely brilliant and is a definite recommendation
From the Indian Section I tried the Parda Paneer and Kamalkakdi Labbabdar along with the Dal Tadka – each good in their own league. The breads deserve a special mention especially the Olive Naan and Naanza.
Burnt Garlic Fried Rice and Hot Bean Tofu were the other dishes on offer from the Oriental section.
The desserts that followed next were not only visually appealing but also bang on taste. Apricot Delight – creamy layer with apricot chunks, Tres Leches – served with sugar candy, Pan Tantra – pan flavored ice cream with litchis & gulkand, Chocolate mousse – rich & moist and the ever popular Baked Cheese Cake were the desserts on offer. Each of them were extremely good !
A special mention also goes to the Mocktails on the menu, the Hot Toddy & Dragon fruit Mojito area already my favorites.
Tatva – promoted by the Hotel Rajdhani group of Hyderabad is surely a winner! A wide array of signature vegetarian dishes from multiple cuisines are presented in innovative ways and moderately priced. If you ever think of vegetarian food, Tatva should be on your must visit list!
Thumbs up for this one!
