This planet of ours has some mind-blowing flavors and dishes….isnt it ? The ongoing Classics of the World promotion at Amara, Trident brings to you a fantastic banquet where you could sample authentic food from different cultures.
Was happy to have been invited for a preview the past week wherein I was thoroughly impressed by Chef Manik and his Team’s effort in displaying some of the classical dishes as part of the dinner buffet at Amara.
Started off with Nicoise Salad – a French composed salad of green beans, cherry tomatoes, hard boiled eggs and capers, one of my all-time favorite salad for a carb lover person like me. Sweet prosciutto melone on offer was more of a delightful appetizer than a salad. The sweet melone and the salty prosciutto perfectly complimented each other. For the soups, I tried Mulligatawny Soup – a delicious curry soup of lentils & vegetables.
I absolutely loved Poisson-a-la-normande –fillet of fish sole in Normandy served alongside wilted spinach. The Beef wellington on offer was just like how I would’ve loved it – the exterior being light and crisp with each layer revealing the best of the other. A definite tenderloin classic that I’m glad was part of the spread. Then there was Bacon & Onion tart along with Legumes terrine.
For the mains – the slow cooked Lamb Massaman Curry, a traditional thai curry was simply at its best. Cassoulet au poulet, Navarin du agneau and Vegetable tagine were the other classic dishes on offer.
Roast chicken with grilled vine was my personal favorite from the mains – cooked on a grill using vertical roaster, the chicken was moist and flavorful with crisp, golden brown skin.
Gateaux St honore, Pavlov, Black forest cake, St Clements pie and French Appletart were some of the classic desserts as part of the spread.
All in all, The promotion that is on until 15th of April is your playground to boldly experience some of the culinary classics where your taste buds haven’t gone before.
